2014 Automobile Magazine All-StarsYou never know exactly when it's going to come, but you know that it's going to come, and the AutomobileMagazine list of All-Stars is here. Six of the cars that were on the 2013 list have survived into 2014, just two have made the leap from the 2012 roundup, and there are three common names with the 2011 ranking. The only 'two' cars to show up in all of those years and this one: the BMW 3 Series - now the 3/4 Series, and thePorsche Boxster and Cayman.

Microsoft's "Windows in the Car" Faces a Long Road

Last week, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT  ) showed off its Windows in the Car concept at its Build conference last week, which is aimed at competing with Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL  ) CarPlay system and comes on the heels of Google's Open Automotive Alliance announcement earlier this year.
While Microsoft's Windows in the Car concept may be the future of automobile infotainment, the company faces some serious challenges before it gets there.

Maruti Suzuki likely to recall one lakh Dzires

Maruti Suzuki, the biggest car manufacturer, is likely to recall around 1 lakh units of its compact sedan – Dzire for issues related to faulty fuel tank part.
According to the dealers, the company has so far not indicated anything to them.
"We have not got any directive from the company. The company is directly contacting the customers for getting the issues resolved," said a Mumbai-based dealer.

GTA 5 coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in June, claims retailer

Gta 5 is tipped to arrive on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in June, according to a German retailer. 

We haven’t heard rumours about the next-gen and PC versions of GTA 5 for a little while now, but a German retail manager has just given us a loose release date. 

According to “Tech Nick”, manager of German electronic retailer Saturn.de, all three GTA 5 versions will arrive sometime in June. 

“The release of GTA 5 for PC, Xbox One and PS4 is expected in June #rumours”, tweeted Tech Nick. 

Although he claims this is just a rumour, someone with a senior retail position could have information laced with some truth.

Research of App analytics provider Flurry found that average mobile users spend 2 hours and 42 minutes per day on a mobile device, out of which only about 22 minutes are dedicated to web surfing where mobile apps get a huge share of 2 hours 20 minutes.

Startup develops technique to charge mobile phone in 30 seconds

An Israeli startup named StoreDot claims to have developed a technique to charge a mobile phone in just 30 seconds.
StoreDot has revealed a prototype of its charging device, showing it charging a handset in a matter of seconds. 
StoreDot, which emerged at Tel Aviv University from research into Alzheimer's discovered crystals occurring in nature two nanometers in diameter that show interesting properties.
The crystals are short chains of amino acids called peptides, can store a charge or emit light, are easy and cheap to make, and are non-toxic, the company claims.

Shadow of Mordor release date and pre-order bonuses revealed

Warner Brothers has revealed the release date, box art, and pre-order bonuses for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
The box art, which you can see below, shows a wraith-ified Talion walking through a battlefield amidst several (dead) goblins. You'll be able to get your hands on it when it releases this year on October 7.
Those who pre-order Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will receive the Dark Ranger bonus pack, which adds the "Test of Power" challenge mode, letting you face Sauron's warriors and earn upgrades before starting the game. Leaderboard access and a "darker" Talion character skin are included as well.
